There are two options for ordering an extract:

Ordering online

Ordering at the post office
Requirements:
  • You have a credit card, PostFinance card or can use TWINT.
  • You must provide a copy of an ID document (passport, identity card or foreign national identity card); the ID document is submitted with the printed and signed application form by post.
Requirements:
  • You must go to the post office in person and prove your identity by means of a valid ID document (passport, identity card or foreign national identity card).
  • You can pay in cash or by card at the counter.
  • If you are in any doubt, the Swiss Post website can provide information on whether your local post office can accept orders.

A criminal record extract can only be requested at the statutory price via the following channels:
  • Directly online from the Federal Office of Justice: www.records.admin.ch
  • Or in person at any post office counter in Switzerland
